Very professional staff , comfortable rooms, clean and safe . Walking around and very centric area. Excellent breakfast. The bathroom in the rooms are exceptional. Very easy to access at hotel from anywhere from the city .

Room was clean, well maintained and larger than I expected. Really great shower with both hand held shower head and rain shower. The staff let me check in early since I arrived before dawn and was exhausted from travelling over 18 hours, so I was really appreciative of their consideration. Their sauna is very lovely and it's for private use, which is nice for us introverts who just want to sweat and be quiet in peace (I guess my soul is Finnish after all). I went to Loyly the following day and although it was nice as advertised, I appreciated my hotel solo sauna experience more. Anytime I asked for information or assistance from the hotel staff, regardless of their department, they were always proactive, helpful and friendly. For example, when breakfast was very crowded on Sunday morning I asked the lady at the hot food station what would be a better time to return. Instead of dismissing me with a later time, she toured the dining room with me in search of a free seat. I was seated at a table meant for four next to a couple I didn't know, and I don't know whether or not they minded but I just wanted to eat and move on with my day. I was so grateful to the staff member for taking the lead and saying "You can sit here!" The weekday breakfast was a lot different, far fewer customers and a much calmer atmosphere. The rooms were in a different annex from the main lobby which didn't make a difference to me, since the lobby is open for public relaxation to all hotel guests and the rooms are securely accessed via keycard beyond automatic doors. They include a cute "can you find me" checklist of all the interesting decorative items located throughout the hotel. Telephone inquiries were responded to promptly and very courteously. The man I met cleaning the public areas was kind and greeted me each time. The young man at check-out was also very kind and helped me to confirm my way to the airport via train and making sure my HSL ticket included the correct zone. I was probably overthinking since I live in a city with a very complicated transportation network, but it turns out that Helsinki public transport is a dream of simplicity by comparison. My only wish is that the hotel have somewhere to heat up ready meals for those of us who might be forced to eat in their rooms rather than at a restaurant at night, since the markets that sell prepared meals don't have microwaves in the store. The only one I saw was the K Market at Suemonlinna, and that is likely for the convenience of the local workers. Since the hotel doesn't have room service, that is my minor issue. The hotel is located a very short walk from the centre of town or an even shorter walk to the closest tram or bus stop. It was a good base for my short trip and the price point for the time of year was also really great. I'd love to be able to enjoy Helsinki and the hotel again someday in the future. We loved the hotel, it was in a great location and offered excellent breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable - especially the pillows. It's a great base to explore Helsinki from, we used the tram to get around the city which was really easy to do.

I had a nice room I the 4th floor. Everyone that worked there was polite and friendly. The building is old and special. Like the relaxed atmosphere. Walking distance to everything I needed. Hopefully I have the opportunity to travel back sometime.

This quickly became one of my favorite hotels in the world. The building and decor are unique and lovely. The front desk staff were helpful and cordial. The breakfast was wonderful; something for everyone's taste.
